With a background in real estate investing, lending, real estate and mortgage law, our company has a solid foundation with hands on experience for mortgage lending, servicing and administration. Understanding the day-to-day operations of real estate and mortgage lending, WE Fund Mortgages Inc. is able to share it’s expertise with Investors, allowing Investors to be more hands-off in the operations of holding mortgages, allowing them more time to focus on growing their wealth in other investment areas.
Our leadership
EDUJI OFORI-OBENG
Eduji is an experienced real estate lawyer in the Ontario area. She has been operating her own firm, Ofori Law for nearly a decade. Eduji primarily practices real estate law however she is experienced in providing specialized legal services for individuals, businesses, and organizations, providing tax planning legal advice and services to small and medium sized businesses.
Eduji’s professional affiliations include being a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation, Law Society of Ontario, and member of the Ontario Bar Association. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Criminology and Criminal Justice from Carleton University as well as a Juris Doctor (JD) from the University of Ottawa.
As a business owner and real estate investor herself, Eduji’s experience and interest in law also extends to working with businesses to establish corporations and individual private lenders for mortgage transactions, mortgage enforcement, power of sales, and mortgage loan agreements.
Being involved in hundreds of residential and commercial real estate transactions for a varied group of clientele, Eduji has demonstrated her passion for real estate and financing. Her range of clients varied from individual home buyers, real estate investors and income property managers to developers, and commercial tenants.
Throughout her experience, Edjuji acts for both lenders and borrowers for secured loans and mortgages. For borrowers, Eduji reviewed, explained and negotiated complicated financing instruments and arrangement; while for lenders she worked to secure loans, power of sales or foreclosures. In addition, Eduji has represented lenders in failed transactions and agreement of purchase and sale breaches and settlement negotiations.
Practicing law for over 12 years, Eduji truly enjoys the client relations aspect of practicing law, and developing valuable long-term relationships with her clients and industry professionals. Her enthusiasm for new opportunities is constantly growing as her clients challenge her to learn new things, be on top of best practices and changes to laws/regulations, which in turn gives her the experience and confidence to handle increasingly complex transactions.
WENDY SINGH
As the Administrative Manager and Privacy and Information Officer for We Fund Mortgages Inc., Wendy brings the superior interpersonal and administrative skills necessary to keep the corporate business functioning smoothly. Her extensive administrative background includes administration management, office management, SOP creation, workflow management, project/event management and budget management. From an understanding of real estate and mortgages, Wendy has been involved in real estate for two decades as both an investor, holding properties, and lender of private mortgages. She has personally experienced being a mortgagee with a property undergoing power of sale and a landlord with tenants requiring the landlord tenant board and small claims court. While these circumstances are not the norm for Wendy, she is familiar with the legal requirements, reporting time frames, and necessary documentation to work through these proceedings.
Wendy is a Registered Real Estate Sales Associate and has been involved in real estate investing for over 20 years. She has worked with various companies in administrative roles, handling cash flows up to 10 Million and AUM of $14.5M. Having a portfolio of loans and real property, she has a thorough understanding of being on both sides of the mortgage loan. These experiences have granted Wendy the necessary knowledge to work through the governing bodies when it comes to enforcement of contracts and power of sale.
Wendy attended the University of Toronto for one year and before attending Ryerson University graduating with a Bachelors of Applied Science. Since then, Wendy has also obtained her real estate license from OREA and is a member of the Mississauga Real Estate Board.
In her previous role of Operations/Administrations Manager, Wendy was a key player in keeping the facility operating smoothly while the owner was out of country for extended periods (3-24 months). She held signing authority and was trusted by the owner to make sound decisions for managing the company’s day-to-day operations. Understanding the Long Term Care Homes Act and applicable regulations, she implemented policies to ensure compliance, provided training and education programs, participated in conflict resolution for stakeholders and staff, maintained the company expenses related to daily operations of the home, submitted reports to licensing bodies as required, and oversaw the management of 60 staff.
